LOXLEY, Ala. — Payton Freeman scored the biggest victory of his career Sunday at Deep South Speedway.
Freeman won the rain-delayed Hunt the Front Southern Showcase, pocketing the $22,000 top prize by holding off hard-charging Brandon Overton, who romped back through the field after pitting for a flat right-rear tire while leading the race under yellow.
Freeman inherited the lead and led the final 25 laps.
Overton finished second, ahead of Spencer Hughes, Josh Putnam and Joseph Joiner.
