CONCORD, N.C. — Kyle Larson banked $25,000 following a dominant performance on night two of the Colossal 100 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Thursday.
Larson started on the pole and led all 30 laps of the four-tenths-mile dirt track to score his first XR Super Series triumph. He finished .741 seconds ahead of fast qualifier Brandon Overton.
Wednesday night winner Chris Madden finished third, with Tim McCreadie and Scott Bloomquist rounding out the top five.
It was Larson’s second dirt late model victory of the season, but the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion will not be at the Dirt Track for Saturday’s $50,000-to-win event as his NASCAR commitments will have him at Kansas Speedway for the weekend.
Overton’s 14.594-second lap was the best of the 50 drivers who signed in.
The finish:
Kyle Larson, Brandon Overton, Chris Madden, Tim McCreadie, Scott Bloomquist, Chris Ferguson, Dale McDowell, Max Blair, Jeff Smith, Michael Brown, Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Strickler, Ross Bailes, Shane Clanton, Kenny Collins, Garrett Smith, Ben Watkins, Ross Robinson, G.R.
