PONTOON BEACH, Ill. — Kyle Bronson fired the last shot to win Tuesday night’s DIRTcar Summer Nationals feature at Tri-City Speedway.
Unhappy with an aggressive move that Tyler Erb made to pass him on lap three, Kyle Bronson made a similarly aggressive attempt to pass Erb for the lead on the final lap. The move resulted in Erb bouncing off the turn three wall and a yellow flag.
Bronson survived the one-lap shootout to the checkered flag, holding off Bobby Pierce for his first Summer Nationals victory, which was worth $7,500. Erb limped home in 10thspot.
Point leader Brian Shirley romped from 19thon the grid to finish third with Brandon Sheppard and Rusty Schlenk rounding out the top five.
