QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. – Veteran Billy Moyer drove to victory during round three of the Wild West Shootout at Arizona Speedway on Wednesday evening.
Moyer, 59, came from fourth at the start and drove by Rodney Sanders on the ninth lap to take the race lead. From there he held off challenges from Jimmy Mars and Chris Simpson to secure the $5,000 victory.
Simpson finished second, followed by Bobby Pierce, who opened the Wild West Shootout by winning the first two races last weekend. Mars and Terry Phillips completed the top-five.
Ricky Thornton Jr. won the companion USRA modified feature, earning $1,000 for his efforts. Shawn Strong took top honors in the X-modified feature.
