Bayne To Run Volunteer Speedway Scorcher

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Former Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne will be behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang Dirt Late Model from Blount Motorsports for the 10th Annual Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway on Aug. 22.

Bayne has leased a 2013 Ford Mustang, a Rocket Chassis with Vic Hill power under the hood, to run the Scorcher next Thursday. The car will be a yellow No. 6 Mustang with sponsorship from Benore Logistics Inc.

“We have worked with Trevor before and he came to us wanting to lease a car so he could run the Scorcher. We have been and will be working closely with Trevor on the deal and have a good race car for him to drive,” said David Bryant, who will crew chief the car.

Coming off an SAS win at Volunteer two weeks ago, Billy Ogle Jr. will be in his familiar Stowers Cat, Vic Hill powered #201 Rocket as he attempts to make it back-to-back Scorcher wins.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Al Blankenship Concrete, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, Food City, GEO Services, Insurance Partners, Massey Electric, Turner Hydraulics, VP Race Fuels and Wine and Spirits Cellar.
