LAURENS, S.C. – After chasing Trent Ivey all race long, Ross Bailes made a late pass to win Tuesday night’s 39th Great Southern Homes Shrine Race at Laurens County Speedway.
Bailes got around Ivey on lap 27 of 35 and ran away to win by 1.240 seconds. His victory was worth $3,500 and marked his 16th career Carolina Clash Late Model Series win.
Tuesday night’s race was broadcast live via SPEED SPORT Network affiliate Pit Row TV.
Ivey hung on for second, ahead of Zack Mitchell, Rambo Franklin and Brett Hamm.
Michael Brown, Kenny Collins, Cla Knight, Jeff Smith and Anthony Sanders completed the top 10.
The 39th Shrine Race was originally scheduled for June 9 but postponed until Tuesday night due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
