WAYCROSS, Ga. – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Spring Shootout will be bigger and better than ever this Friday and Saturday at LaSalle Speedway.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series looks to double the excitement for fans this weekend. Both nights will include a complete show, packed with RED BUCK Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and $10,000 to win, $800 to start feature events. More than $80,000 in prize money will be up for grabs this weekend at LaSalle Speedway.
“This will be one of the biggest weekends in the history of LaSalle Speedway,” said Tony Izzo Jr., whose family promotes the third-mile oval track located in North-Central Illinois. “We have our biggest crowds when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series comes here. With the quality of drivers they have, and the show they put on, I am sure the place will be packed again.”
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be visiting LaSalle Speedway for the 10th time since the series inception in 2005. With a roster full of dirt late model racing’s biggest names, the series is in the midst of a terrific points battle with positions 1-10 separated by only 220 points.
In fact, six of the top 10 in points have already reached Lucas Oil Victory Lane in 2013 with former LaSalle track champion Dennis Erb, Jr. and two-time series champion Jimmy Owens leading the way with three wins each.
