LIBERAL, Kan. – Terry Phillips put an explanation point on his weekend by picking up another MARS DIRTcar Series feature win at the Fairground Speedway Sunday evening
For the weekend Phillips, the 6-time MARS champion, recorded a second place finish and two first place finishes bringing his weekend haul to $16,000.
Phillips gained the most passing points during heat race action and started on the pole for the 30-lap feature and led every lap en route to his 80th career MARS win, worth $3,000.
Tony Jackson, Jr., raced his way to another second place finish. Jackson, who started the feature in the fifth position, raced in the top five before making his move to the front in the last six laps of the race.
Ricky Thornton, Jr., MARS point leader Jesse Stovall and Steve Johnson rounded out the top five.
