MILWAUKEE – OPTIMA Batteries, the global leader in high-performance automotive and marine Spiralcell Technology AGM batteries and chargers, is proud to announce its renewed sponsorship of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the 2013 season.
“OPTIMA has long been the battery of choice for many automotive and boating enthusiasts looking for better power, longer life and greater resistance to the use and abuse of extreme applications,” said Cam Douglass, OPTIMA Batteries director of product development and marketing. “Our batteries are engineered to excel in the exact kind of environment these Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series racers compete in. We enjoy following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and are happy to support it through sponsorship.”
OPTIMA Batteries will also continue to sponsor Don O’Neal’s No. 71 car in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series after his second-place finish in the series points standings last season and series best 11 event wins. O’Neal, of Martinsville, Ind., has repainted his traditionally yellow car in red, black and white OPTIMA colors for 2013 to reflect his growing commitment with OPTIMA.
“I am excited to once again be the driver of the OPTIMA Team 71 MasterSbilt car for the second year,” said O’Neal. “I am very happy that OPTIMA Batteries chose me and my race team to represent them as they continue supporting the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Racing Series.”
OPTIMA Batteries will also return as the title sponsor of the OPTIMA Batteries Hard Charger of the Race and year-end award. The driver that earns the most OPTIMA Batteries Hard Charger points throughout the year will be awarded the OPTIMA Batteries Hard Charger of the Year award at the series’ year-end awards banquet and receive a $500 cash award, compliments of OPTIMA Batteries.
