BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Nick Hoffman made it two wins in a row in DIRTcar modified competition Wednesday night at Volusia Speedway Park, battling former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Stremme early and holding off other NASCAR notables Ty Dillon and Kenny Wallace through the feature.

Wallace kept Hoffman within striking distance but was never able to get close enough to complete a pass for the lead.

“[Kenny Wallace] is tough everywhere we go. I knew he would race us clean when I looked up at the scoreboard and saw he was in second. They told me in the infield to hustle it for three more laps at the end, so I gave it everything I had,” Hoffman said. “Everything held together and we got us another Gator (trophy).”

The finish:

Nick Hoffman, Kenny Wallace, Jason Beaulieu, Ty Dillon, David Stremme, Jeff Matthews, Max McLaughlin, Ray Bollinger, Todd Neiheiser, Jackie Boggs, Brian Papiez, Will Krup, Larry Burkins, Brandon Green, Tyler Nicely, Mike Hansen, Michael Turner, Brian Shaw, Billy Workman Jr., Jesse Wisecarver, Cory Daugherty, Stephen Schnapf, Trent Young, A.J-Fike.
