SOMERTON, Ariz. — Chris Zogg started from the pole and claimed the modified feature victory on the opening night of the IMCATV Winter Nationals at Cocopah Speedway.
The New Liberty, Iowa hotshoe outlasted fellow front row starter and Iowa native Tim Ward to win the 25-lap event that opened the annual event at the three-eighths-mile dirt track.
Grey Ferrando finished third, with Chaz Baca and Jeremy Mills rounding out the top five as 70 modifieds were on hand for the event.
With 49 stock cars in competition, Zane DeVilbiss raced from the ninth starting spot to win the 25-lap feature ahead of Bo Partain and Curt Lund.
Cam Reimers led from start to finish to win the SportMod main event.
Cody Williams raced from sixth on the grid to win the hobby stock feature, while Kaylee DeVries topped the sport compact main event.
