MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Mat Williamson continued his late-season charge by winning Sunday’s Eastern States 200 at Orange County Fair Speedway.
The big-block modified victory came two weeks after Williamson swept the small-block and big-block races during Super DIRT Week at Oswego Speedway.
Williamson earned $30,000 for the victory.
Williamson ran near the front for most of the 200-lap event on the five-eighths-mile track, but inherited the lead when Tyler Dippel retired with engine issues on lap 189.
Williamson survived multiple restarts during the final 10 laps to claim victory ahead of Stewart Friesen, who started 36th.
Jimmy Phelps, Max McLaughlin and Jack Lehner completed the top five.
