LEBANON, Ore. — Jesse Williamson went to victory lane as the Wild West Modified Shootout returned to Willamette Speedway for the first time since 2019.
At the beginning of the 40-lap IMCA Modified main event, Jesse Williamson captured the top place position on the opening start. After that, the field underwent a long 23-lap green flag run, bringing some traffic into play.
Williamson would be briefly harassed by some contenders but managed to carve his way through lapped traffic effectively. Three stoppages were to be had throughout the race. That would take out any further contact with the tail end of the lead lap field and put more emphasis on the restarts.
On one occasion, Williamson would be challenged by Corbett’s Collen Winebarger. The two would briefly go side-by-side, but Jesse kept him in check.
As a result, Jesse Williamson was the first entry to the checkered flag en route to scoring his 13th career series race and the second time he has won at Willamette with the tour.
Williamson has amassed an incredible six straight wins in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region and five in KMJ Performance Oregon State action in 2021.  It is Jesse’s first victory at Willamette in the current campaign.
Collen Winebarger held on to the second spot, while third place in the finishing order was Redmond veteran Mark Carrell. Eston Whisler and Brian Thompson were fourth and fifth. Â
In Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern Sport Mod competition, seven yellow flags were waved during the 25-lap feature. Â Dustin Comer seized the point right from the get-go and claimed his fifth victory of the season.
