ELM MOTT, Texas — After more than two inches of rain yesterday and an unfavorable forecast for this weekend at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, the 2024 season for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt has come to an end.
“This is not the way we wanted to end the season but not much we can do about Mother Nature,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “Thank you to everybody that supported the USMTS this season and the last 26 years. We are looking forward to a great 2025.”
With the cancellation of the Texas Cotton Palace Clash presented by Good Auto Diagnostics, the points are officially final for the USMTS in 2024.
Osage, Iowa’s Jim Chisholm has captured his first USMTS national championship. He also claimed the title in both the Mel Hambelton Racing USMTS Central Region and Collins Brothers Towing USMTS North Region presented by Featherlite.
Jake Timm of Winona, Minn., is the winner of the ARMI Contractors USMTS South Region presented by Gene Nicholas, LLC, points battle.
The American Racer USRA Modified Series event slated for Thursday has also been rained out, ending the 2024 campaign for that series.
