USMTS Rained Out At Nobles County

WORTHINGTON, Minn. – Saturday’s United States Modified Touring Series event at the Nobles County Speedway has been canceled due to saturated grounds and an impending forecast of strong thunderstorms.

“With an 80 to 90 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and throughout the night, it just makes sense to make this call early in the day so our long-distance traveling race teams and USMTS fans can avoid the drive and severe weather, and make alternate plans,” said USMTS President Todd Staley.

Park Jefferson Speedway near Jefferson, S.D., will host the United States Modified Touring Series on Sunday, June 23, for the ninth time in series history, and while Mother Nature has been declared the winner three times in the past, no racer has been able to visit victory lane more than once.

Past winners include Jay Noteboom (2005), Kelly Shryock (2006), Jason Krohn (2007), Jason Hughes (2008), Jon Tesch (2009), Ryan Gustin (2010), Rodney Sanders (2016) and Lucas Schott (2018).
