GREENWOOD, La. — This weekend’s USMTS Battle at Boothill and Summit USRA Southern Nationals events at the Boothill Speedway are canceled with the dismal forecast in the area in the coming days, the series stated Tuesday afternoon.
“We hate it,” said USMTS and USRA President Todd Staley. “It’s been one of the dryest falls we’ve ever see, but not when we plan a race. It sucks for the track operators, their staff, the fans and our racers, but with the cost of diesel fuel and everything else associated with travel, we will not reschedule these two events this late in the year.”
This will leave one final weekend for the Summit USMTS Modifieds next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, Texas.
Thursday night will feature the season finale for the American Racer USRA Modified Series paying $2,000 to win, followed by the USMTS curtain-closer paying $5,000 to win each night.
Saturday will also see the crowning of the 2024 champions for both the ARMI Contractors USMTS South Region presented by Gene Nicholas, LLC, and Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt.
The Summit USRA Southern Nationals will not be made up and points for all divisions in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series — including the headlining USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks — are officially complete for this year.
