MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Orange County Fair Speedway will welcome back the Super DIRTcar Series on Wednesday, July 5, to finish the remaining portion of the Battle for the Fairgrounds.
The Beasts of the Northeast will run their Last Chance Showdowns and 75-lap, $7,500-to-win, feature – postponed from May 7. Then, Orange County will host a 30-lap, $5,000-to-win, Big Block Modified track event.
Before weather postponed the remaining portion of the Battle for the Fairgrounds, Larry Wight set Quick Time in Low-E Insulation Qualifying, won his heat race and then drew the pole for the feature – claiming the $100 SRI Performance/Stock Car Steel Award.
Matt Sheppard will start second, Billy Decker third, Brett Hearn fourth, Dan Creeden fifth and Peter Britten sixth.
Joining them in the feature will be Jimmy Phelps, Craig Mitchell, Chris Hile, Ronnie Davis III, Jack Lehner, Tyler Jashembowski, Tanner VanDoren, Marc Johnson, Tyler Boniface, Anthony Perrego, Stewart Friesen and Mike Mahaney. Three last chance showdowns will lock in the rest of the field.
The remaining Sportsman Modified feature from the May 7 event will also run on July 5.
