Rain Slows USMTS At Deer Creek

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. – Thursday’s program at Deer Creek Speedway for the third annual World Modified Dirt Track Championship presented by Bauer Built Tire and Hanson tire Service has been rained out and postponed until Friday.

The track received nearly two inches of rain between 2-5 p.m. Couple with a forecast of more wet weather later this evening, event organizers were forced to make the call to pull the plug.

The good news is that Friday will now be a doubleheader with back-to-back shows on tap.

The first show will be the originally scheduled line-up for Thursday with hot laps at 5 p.m. and featuring the Iron Man Challenge for USRA Stock Cars and the USMTS Modifieds.

The second show will begin at approximately 8:30-depending on the length of the first program and track prep between the two segments-and will be the originally scheduled Friday line-up of Wissota Midwest Mods and USMTS Modifieds. The USMTS portion will be the Friday-only qualifiers and all drivers using mulligans from Wednesday and the earlier show on Friday (Thursday’s postponed program).
