Opening USMTS Weekend In Texas Washed Out

DALLAS, Texas – The United States Modified Touring Series campaign will have to wait one more week before blasting off.

This week’s three-night excursion through Texas has been canceled due to heavy rain last night in the Dallas-Fort Worth area causing saturated grounds at the facilities. Near-freezing low temperatures this week also played a role in the decision.

The event scheduled for Saturday at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville will now take place on Tuesday, May 7, while Thursday night’s event at 82 Speedway in Petty will move to Wednesday, May 8. The show at the Kennedale Speedway Park has not been rescheduled.

The new dates create an exciting five-night stretch through the Lone Star State. On Thursday, May 9, the USMTS invades Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls and then tackles West Texas Raceway in Lubbock on Friday, May 10.

The week of speed wraps up Saturday, May 11, with the 10th annual Amarillo Ambush at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo.
