Laney Takes Round Two Of Clash

HANFORD, Calif. — The Central California IMCA Clash continued on Tuesday at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds with 62 entrants in the three sanctioned divisions.

Steve Noland and Cody Laney redrew row one and Laney jumped into the lead, quickly establishing a large margin. Bobby Hogge IV worked his way from 7th starting to second, pressuring Laney for a couple laps before losing second to Dalton Houghton along the frontstretch.

A yellow flag with two laps remaining offered a final opportunity to challenge Laney, but he kept the lead for a flag-to-flag victory. Houghton was second and Hogge IV completed the podium.

The stock cars were dominated by Paul Stone, who only had to deal with numerous restarts. Stone claimed the win over Fred Ryland and Garrett Corn.

Northern sport mods had Orion Messina and Jason Bannister redraw the front row for the 20-lap main. Bannister got the better start and held off two contenders the entire distance.

Fred Ryland was second right behind Jason and in an excellent battle with Jason Bannister’s son, Tyler. Tyler got past Ryland on the backstretch on lap 15 and just missed passing his father coming out of turn four to the checkers. Ryland settled for third behind the Bannister duo.

The Clash now moves a half hour to Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway for the next two nights.
