SOMERTON, Ariz. — Next January’s huge IMCA event at Cocopah Speedway is now accepting entries for the five sanctioned divisions.
The IMCA.TV Winter Nationals drew an average of 206 entrants over the seven race nights last January. Expect an even more impressive turnout for seven nights of racing from Jan. 4 to Jan. 13.
An event that promoter Brad Whitfield works on all year, the Winter Nationals has added three impressive bonus programs which will reward division champions and drivers that win enough main events.
Officially known as the Playa Azul Seypet Resorts, IMCA.tv Winter Nationals Powered by Yuma Insurance, Inc. and RV World Recreation Vehicle Center, the event will add an additional night of racing in 2024 to make eight nights of IMCA racing with modifieds, Northern sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks, and sport compacts.
One of the special bonuses for next January is the Superior Fuel Cells IMCA modified $25,000 challenge. If a driver wins all eight main events a $25,000 bonus will be paid. If it is seven wins, it is a $15,000 bonus while six wins will be worth an additional $5,000.
Cocopah Resort and Casino along with Integrity Drilling Services are offering the IMCA stock car $15,000 challenge. Winning all eight events pays a $15,000 bonus, $7,000 for winning seven, and $3,000 for six wins.
The event point champions from all five IMCA divisions will be awarded with a seven-day, six-night stay at Playa Azul Seypet Resorts in Rocky Point, Mexico.
To make getting there more enjoyable, the package includes $1,500 for airfare.
Sponsor support has led to bonus programs that will make the event particularly rewarding.
A practice session is scheduled for Jan. 2, with four nights of racing to follow.
Two days off follow before the Fifth Annual Gene Freeman Memorial pit crew challenge for modifieds and Northern sport mods on Jan. 9. The following four nights will complete the Winter Nationals with complete shows.
Drivers can enter on My Race Pass.
SPEED SPORT affiliate IMCA.tv will stream all of the action.
