CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — The finale of the Showdown At Central Arizona Raceway was Sunday afternoon with 95 teams on hand to compete.
The modified main belonged to Kollin Hibdon to make it two in a row. Several yellows gave Chaz Baca Jr. multiple opportunities to turn his second spot into a win but Hibdon was fast enough to win by 2.7 seconds. Shawn Strand was third.
Jason Berg won the stock car main but his drive changed from cruising to close racing with a yellow and seven laps remaining.
Berg was pressured after the yellow by Chaz Baca Jr. with side-by-side racing but Berg held onto the lead to win while Baca was second just ahead of Cole Czarneski.
Northern sport mods were led by Anthony Madrid for three laps until Taylor Kuehl used the top side of turn four to claim the lead.
Kuehl built a 1.7 second lead, erased by the only sport mod yellow, and rebuilt the lead on the restart to claim the win.
Clay Erickson and Eric Winemiller completed the podium.
Joe Peterson and Rick Hughes Jr. put on a show in their hobby stocks battling for the lead but tangled on the backstretch the final lap, handing the win to Braxton Eichelberger.
Riley Clem lost the Saturday race in tech but replaced it with a Sunday win to close the weekend.
