OCALA, Fla. — Mike Gular became the third different winner in as many nights with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series fueled by Sunoco Saturday at Bubba Raceway Park.
Gular started ninth in the 50-lap feature on the three-eighths-mile dirt track and steadily worked his way toward the front, taking the lead from veteran New York superstar Billy Decker during the stretch run to the checkered flag.
Erick Rudolph, who won the opening night feature earlier in the week, came on strong at the finish to claim the runner-up spot, while Decker brought his No. 91 home third.
Tyler Siri and Matt Sheppard rounded out the top five.
Stewart Friesen, who won on Friday night, started the feature 22nd after winning one of the B mains. Friesen put on a dazzling display of driving to move to second during the first third of the race.
But as he aggressively raced through traffic, he made contact with another car and ended up hard into the first turn wall, flipping his familiar No. 44 modified.
Friesen was unhurt, but his race was over.
Stephen Kemery topped the 30-lap crate 602 sportsman event.
Saturday night’s Sunshine Swing feature was broadcast live on SPEED SPORT TV affiliate Dirt Track Digest TV.
