Friesen Paces Practice For STSS Sunshine Swing

LAKE CITY, Fla. – All-Tech Raceway hosted an open practice on Wednesday ahead of the opening night of action for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco Sunshine Swing on Thursday.

Forty-one STSS Modifieds hit the track with Stewart Friesen clicking off the fastest lap of 19.040 seconds. Friesen’s Halmar International No. 44 was among the first cars to power around the extreme outside of the clay oval.

Anthony Perrego was the second-fastest of the night with a lap of 19.114 seconds.

Both the STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman took part in six rounds of practice during the night.

Payton Talbot led a 31-car Crate 602 Sportsman contingent.

With practice complete, attention now turns to Thursday night and the first of three race nights for the ‘Sunshine Swing’ STSS competitors. Modifieds race 30 laps for $5,000 to win and the Crate 602 Sportsman in a $1,250-to-win, 25-lap main event.
