PHOENIX, N.Y. – Billy Decker will reunite with LJL/Gypsum Racing team owner John Wight and crew chief Scott Jeffrey to chase the Super DIRTcar Series big-block modified championship.

In addition to competing in the Super DIRTcar Series, the trio will also race weekly at Brewerton Speedway in the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Big Block Modified division.

Decker and LJL/Gypsum Racing previously parted ways at the end of the 2015 season after a 12-year run together. He’s driven for Mike Payne the last three seasons.

“John (Wight) and me stayed close, even after we went our separate ways,” Decker explained. “A couple weeks ago John and I talked and he asked what my plans were for next season. I told him I was open to offers.”

Decker said it wasn’t a tough decision to rejoin the LJL Gypsum Racing team.

“We had a lot of fun and success in the past and I’m comfortable around Scott Jeffery,”  Decker said.

Decker will have new Bicknell chassis powered by stout LJL Kevlar Racing Engines with Integra Racing shocks at his disposal.

The first races for Billy Decker and Gypsum Racing will be in February at the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. The modified portion of the Nationals will hit the speedway Feb. 12-16.

In addition to working with Decker, Jeffery will also continue working with defending Super DIRT Week Billy Whittaker Cars 200 winner Larry Wight.
