BRADFORD, Vt. — The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds feature went to Brian Chaffee, after taking the win at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night.
Chaffee moving up from the Sportsman Coupes, dreamed of getting his first win in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, but probably not this way.
A special award is given out at the annual awards banquet for those drivers who are fortunate enough to grab the checkers three times in one night. The stars need to be aligned just right, as this feat is not a common occurrence.
First the driver must win the heat race, which he did. Second, the driver must win the semi feature event, (a special 13 lap race in memory of Buster Kathan, each week a different class getting a chance at), which he did. Then, topping it off with a feature victory, which Chaffee did as well.
Joining the beaming Chaffee was Jeremy Huntoon with his best finish of the season taking second, and Todd Buckwold in third, both still looking for their first win in the mighty mods, and proving that they are just a couple door knocks away from getting it. Ryan Christian and Matt completed the top five.
Cooper Hodge won the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, while Ryan Christian scored the win in the R&L Auto Towing and Recovery division.
The LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks went to Garrett Brown, and the Peanuts Auto LLC Ridge Runners features went to Jonathan Baker and Travis Burroughs.
